FINAL ~ Return to MAN 301005

[NOTE: For a better read, please start at the bottom. Don't ask me why, that's how it works. And click image for better view.]

At Manchester Airport again. This time Terminal 1 to catch the late night RyanAir flight to Dublin. More waiting, so more reading and more puzzles.

Two tired travelers.

Trafford Centre 301005

Old Trafford done, but we still have 5 hours to kill before we catch our plane to Dublin. So we head for the Trafford Centre. Huge shopping precinct, much bigger than MidValley MegaMall in KL. Hey, I'm no shopping fan, but I'm truly impressed!

Btw these pics are just the food court.

City of Manchester Stadium 301005

There's another famous club in Manchester, and this is their ultra-modern home (originally built for Commonwealth Games 2002), but I can't figure out why they put up a huge sea urchin in front of it. Any Manchester City fan care to enlighten?

Outside The Stadium 301005

Meanwhile, outside the stadium, it is peaceful and calm. I wonder how it's like on a match day, say when ManU meets Liverpool?

Enter the Megastore, behind Sir Matt Busby (see below), and you come face-to-face with these impressive displays.

Old Trafford 301005

Yes, we come here for this, just 3.5km southwest of downtown, and no intro needed! Btw, that is Sir Matt Busby (1909-1994), the legendary player and manager of the club, on the pedestal.

A huge car-park faces the main entrance, and on a non-match day like today, parking is always free. Very convenient indeed.

FIRST ~ Downtown Manchester 301005

But surely we do not come all the way here just to gawk at old buildings ...
