
Handsome trees reach for the sky. On the ground it is dark and damp, and the occasional break in the canopy acts like a light-well.

Slivers of sunlight reaching the ground, most welcomed by all plants.

The brook splashes everywhere and on the vine-like stem of a rattan plant.

Jungle stream may look pure and refreshing, but beware, there lurk micro-critters that can make you sick, especially if a wild animal is relieving itself upstream. There are also larvae of worms which can enter your body and cause havoc.

So, rule-of-thumb when jungle trekking - always bring ample supply of drinking water.
