Just before reaching Kandy, we do a quick detour to a major elephant orphanage, popular with Europeans and Arabs (maybe because there ain't no elephants in Europe and Arabia) but a ho-hum for me. This is the entrance. It's a well-kept compound with a huge souvenir shop to the right.
